Celebrate

Believe it or not the Fourth of July Holiday is this weekend. I am so excited to spend time with family. Sleeping outside, going early to the hot air balloons and enjoying a round of kickball and fireworks in the evening. The only thing that might make this better is cinnamon bears and nachos.

Lessons Learned

Today I went to meet with one of my law professors about my ability to interview clients. I had to do a mock interview that was taped and then sit down with my professor to critique it.
I did not feel confident about my interview and left on the day I did it feeling like I have a lot to learn (which I do).
The discussion with my professor was about an hour long and very helpful. Professor Smith did a wonderful job of helping me to see my strengths, areas to improve, and making me feel like I actually right on track.
One thing she pointed out about me is that I am a problem solver which is good but sometimes I try to solve the problem to quickly, before I have enough information. As I thought about this insight I realized that this is so true about me. So for all of you friends and family out there that I have given quick advice to please know that I now realize I did not have the whole story most the time.
It is amazing what law school can teach you!

Last Chance Harvey

I watched this movie tonight and I really enjoyed it. It is nice to see a movie where it is not two beautifully perfect people who easily find each other and fall in love.

These two characters are older and they each have complicated histories. Everything is not perfect and it does not end perfect. I really enjoyed it.

Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson seem very real and seem to bring their own life experiences into this picture.

The Left Turn at Albuquerque

The day before we left California boxes were packed and then the truck. This was the box Trey and I packed.
On Friday, May 22nd we started the drive and this was pretty much how Kaden looked when he was awake.

This is what we saw out the window while listening to U2 Joshua Tree. Go figure?

After the first day of driving Trey was a bit sleepy.

On Saturday, May 23rd, Trey got a special present from Mom. If you cannot tell he was excited.

You solved the mystery, it was the movie Bolt.

This was an actually building on the freeway. It was so rare I had to get a picture. The rain was consistent in New Mexico every afternoon that I was there.

There were trains every where. Trey loved it and I realized why Cowboy in Newsies wanted to head to Santa Fe.

May 23rd we arrived in Albuquerque, New Mexico to an awesome new house for the Lecheminants. Thanks for all the reminders about taking that left turn at Albuquerque!

The hot air balloons came out for the two days after we arrived. Some may say it was for Memorial Day. But I think the balloons were meant to welcome Jeff and Julie. I love you guys.

California

I arrived in California yesterday and was very excited to see the Lecheminant Clan. I have had a fun day with Trey and Kaden at the park blowing bubbles and playing the part of Princess Fionna.

One of the best parts of the day was Kaden and Trey running through the back of the moving truck. Oh the memories of my childhood.

 Jeff and Julie's ward came through in leaps and bounds as they loaded the truck for the big move. Although I can't say it was a complete LDS affair because there were cookies left over. 

We head out tomorrow morning on a road trip adventure from the bay area of California to New Mexico. Julie and I have done road trips before. I hope she is prepared for dealing with me in the car for two straight days.

EARTH

For my birthday my mom and I went to see the movie Earth. I highly recommend it. It is a documentary type that is beautiful. Go see it on the big screen. I was fun to go see it with Mom. I love her.
Afterwards Steph, Mom, Quincey and I went to lunch at Wingers and had fabulous Asphalt Pie. Who could ask for a better birthday than this!

P.S. I do find it sad that Bob Marley died on my birthday. I know random thoughts.

I Have a Garden...

I had a wonderful day with friends in the gardens at Thanksgiving Point.
The weather was beautiful and so were the flowers.
Emily, Deah, Melinda and Kelly are flowers among flowers.

What an awesome way to celebrate Sarah's and my birthday. Thanks ladies I could not ask for better!

Losing my Marbles

Finals are over and I did my best,

Finals

Believe it or not finals are here again. I can't believe how fast this semester has gone by. As always I do not feel prepared and I am preparing myself for the worst. But as many of you know this is very typical for me.

Let's just hope there are no fires this time!

Park City

I had a great weekend with Sarah, Kelsey, and Deah. Sarah had the opportunity to stay at a nice resort over night so we tagged along. We had pedicures, manicures, movies, and a night in the hot tub. Talk about fun! This is Deah having her first manicure and pedicure.

New Baby Saige Larsen

Matt and Kerri had a new baby girl today that they named Sage.
I was lucky enough to have the time to come and see her and she is beautiful.
It is great to be an aunt!

Grandpa Gillespie's Typewriter

When my Grandpa Gillespie passed away I found an old typewriter in his office that no one wanted. It, along with an old copy of Silas Marner were the only two things I had from my Grandpa.

As you can see from these pictures the fire in December basically destroyed the typewriter. But with the support of a good roommate, a lot of rust remover, and blessings from above the typewriter has been saved.

Did I mention that I am so blessed!

Everyone Needs Girl Time

All of my sisters were in town this weekend so we decided to have a shower for my sister Kerri who is soon to be a mom again. But what started out as a fun party turned into an all nighter that lasted until 5:30am (of course I was smart and went to bed at 4:00).
My sisters, mom and grandma are such blessings in my life and I love them so much. I would not have traded this weekend for anything.

To add to the fun my sister Julie got me an autographed picture of Mike Tee Vee from the movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I don't know about you but this event could beat out Groundhog Day.

Death Wish

I must have a death wish or something. I just got home from running the Moab Half Marathon yesterday and my final paper for my legal methods course is due tomorrow. So I have been up all night completing it. So now that it is just after 1:00am I have decided to Blog (Don't worry the paper is done).

Swim Wear

Shopping for swim wear is my least favorite thing to shop for. I had to find a swimming suit today because next week I am heading to Moab for the half marathon and the hot tub will be calling my name soon there after.
I lost my old suit in the fire, not that it was fabulous by any means. Nothing ever seems to fit right and it just reminds me that I need to stop munching on Charleston Chews to say the least. But lets be honest I don't really see that happening.

Training

I am currently training for the Moab Half Marathon and I have to say that some running days are better than others. For example last week I had no trouble with just over 8 miles and today I could barely pull off 4 miles.
One thing is for sure though, I am so glad I found Sugar House Park. It is the perfect running location. I know exactly how many miles I do and each loop has two good hills in it. Whoever put this park together had runners in mind.

Going Into Hiding

Last semester I had a take home final in December. I told everyone I was going into hiding. After my test was over my dad commented on how he did not see me for eight straight hours. It was true, I only came out when required.

I am now working on a case paper based on the First Amendment. This of course is putting me into hiding for more than eight hours. Who would have ever thought that the First Amendment could put someone into hiding.

Any Ideas...

I am feeling that winter desire to go some place warm. Any ideas? Unfortunately I am on a tight budget so maybe a cruise around the Great Salt Lake will have to do.

Groundhog Day 2009

The Bill Murray Movie, "Groundhog Day" is my favorite movie of all time. Make sure you watch it tonight to celebrate. In the mean time this is the prediction this year.

Wookie

Sad to say our great dog Wookie died today. It is hard to believe, she was such a good dog and she will be greatly missed. Love you Wookie!
