The Moab Adventure

 On October 11,2012, yes 10-11-12, Kris, Michelle, Matt, Kerri, and I went to Moab for a camping adventure with their kids. We had an amazing camp site with beautiful red rock as a backdrop. 

 The kids had a great time playing on the rocks and of course in the dirt. As we went to bed it rained a bit, but by morning the rain, lighting and thunder were extreme and the Larsen's tent had flooded.

 On October 12th we were determined to continue our adventure. Kerri creatively lead breakfast with omelets in a bag. They were so good and a lot of fun. Matt and Kris kept the wood up and the fire burning.

We headed into Arches and the sky cleared up. We enjoyed the statues outside the visitor's center and took some fun pictures.

 We went and hiked Balanced Rock. The clouds were moving so fast that the kids thought the rock was falling. It scared some of the younger ones and of course the older ones thought it was cool.  

 We went to hike Double Arch next and the rain, hail, lightning, and thunder was overwhelming. We sat in the car for a while and decided to take a break from hiking and head to town for lunch.

 After lunch we decided to get a hotel because of the rain and cold. We packed up the campsite where we discovered more rain filling the Larsen's tent. Needless to say we knew the decision to spend the night in a hotel was the right one. It also opened the door to getting really dirty at the sand dune, which we did.

 We played on the dune for over an hour and ultimately created our own red dirt shirts, pants, and bodies.

 On October 13th after a good night sleep in the hotel Claire LOVED the cinnamon rolls and was so happy to not sleep out in the cold.

 We returned to Double Arch and enjoyed a beautiful hike with a very sunny day.

 We hiked to the view of Delicate Arch and enjoyed a great day. It was so funny when we got to the view. All the kids wanted to do was collect rocks. Here they are at the most famous arch and they are more interested in collecting. Kids are so easily amused.

 It would not be a trip with Kris with out a few weird shots, so enjoy....

This picture of Claire says it all about the ride home. We had a lot of fun, unexpected adventures, and went home ready for a good sleep. That is what I call a great trip!

Childhood Trees

When I was in 4th Grade I tended to play a lot of Four Square. At some point I got bored with it and walked over to two trees, later known as the tree of life and the tree of love for a group of fourth grade girls at Edgemont Elementary. There I found Sarah Stewart, Melanie Misbach, and Cheryl Rogers playing with Care Bears. Later Jamie Teel joined us there and a life long friendship was formed. These wonderful women after 20+ years are still friends today. 

On Sunday I walked with my nieces to Edgemont Elementary and saw these same two trees still standing tall. I am so grateful for the wonderful friends that I met here, that have continued to bless my life in many ways!

When Success is Sweeter!

 The rule of three has remained true for the Bar Exam and I am excited to say I PASSED! To celebrate I went to the play Persuasion with the girls! Sarah Stewart directed it and it was so well done! Not to mention a lot of fun.

 Kylie and Quincey decorated their house with balloons to celebrate. Josh, Cole, and Ali made me a candy BAR card to congratulate me! I am so loved by such great kids!

 Camille decorated my office at work and everyone stopped by and was very congratulatory!

Applying for law school, going to law school, and passing the bar has taken a total of 7 years. I have failed a lot in the process and for that I am grateful, even though I wasn't at the time. Each time I succeeded it meant so much more! I have truly been blessed and supported by so many along the way.

All I can honestly say is thank you!



Aspen Grove

 On September 8th the family went to Aspen Grove for a hike and picnic. Steph, Deah, the Larsen and Horton kids took a hike up to a waterfall.

 These kids are growing up way too fast! I am so glad we get these moments together.

 The waterfall was so pretty!

 It was a great night for a hike and we had a lot of fun!

 When we got back to Aspen Grove Kerri and Matt were just finishing the dutch oven food. It was great food! Kris and Kelly enjoyed the dress ups...

 Quincey dressed up as a female Harry Potter, or at least that is what it reminded me of.

 The kids put on the regular show, or at least that is what it seemed like...

 We roasted marshmallows and then Spencer and Angie announced they are expecting in March!

2013 is going to be an exciting year!
