November 18th on the Road to Hana

 On the 18th we left the beautiful shores of Napili Point with Randy, Anne, David, Mandy and I.

 On the way out Randy got a smoothie that Kelly in his practical joke way shared.

 We started on the road to Hana, which is very narrow with lots of turns. Out first stop was a hike to twin falls.

 At the falls Mandy and I jumped in and went under the waterfall. It was cold, but felt great!

 There was a lot of bamboo on the road to Hana and we loved hiking through it.

As we entered Hana we got set up in our houses  known as Josie's Hana Hideaway. I thought this little sign was funny and totally appropriate to the primitive nature of the location.

We played a lot of cards on this trip and this day was no exception, the carport was the perfect location to enjoy the weather and some new amazing friends! 

November 17th a Beautiful Sabbath Day

 A group of us went to church in Maui on Sunday. Church was suppose to start at 9:00 A.M. When we got there we found out that it was regional conference and would not start until 10:00. This gave me a chance to sit outside, reflect and write in my journal. What a great opportunity. Judy (without the belt) was in our group and the other lady just happened to be at the church with the same dress, too funny!

 After church I enjoyed the sunsets outside our condo window and felt very blessed to enjoy such beauty!

November 16th at the Beach and on Front Street

 On the 16th Mandy and I decided to hang out on the beach. The weather was beautiful at 80 degrees, so we sat out on the beach, listened to the water and relaxed. I could have done just that for the rest of the trip it was so relaxing!

 In the afternoon I joined a new friend, Bruce, on a trip to Front Street. There is a huge banyan tree on front street and these pictures do not do it justice!

November 15th at Iao Valley, on Rope Swings and Snorkeling

 Our group went to the Iao Valley and started with a short hike to the Iao Needle. There I had a vocabulary lesson that brought on a joke that lasted the whole trip. Needless to say we traveled with a fun group of people.

 Kelly was one of the guys on our trip. He and his wife Eileen were so much fun and a great pair to play jokes on throughout the trip!

 Bob was our camera friend during the trip. A very nice guy starting over after the loss of his wife a few months ago. He also made me feel like Santa was watching over during the whole trip.

 There were beautiful gardens below the needle that we had a chance to walk through and enjoy.

 We found our first banana tree, followed by many others throughout the trip.

 The Banyan Trees were amazing and made for great pictures.

After the hike we went to a rope swing where some of our group jumped in. It was a little too high for me. We also went to the beach to snorkel. I was fine with sitting on the beach, but Mandy and and guy in our group were patient with my very stubborn nature and got me in to snorkel for the very first time. They were both very right that it was well worth it and I enjoyed doing it then as well as later in the trip. Thanks for being patient with me Mandy and Bruce and for pushing me out of a comfort zone! 

November 14th, Our First Day in Maui

 Mandy and I arrived in Maui on November 13th in the middle of the night and on November 14th we looked at these beautiful views outside our window on Napili Point. It was amazing!

 We went on a walk with the group we were traveling with along the Kapalua Coastal Trail

 It was a beautiful trail covered with sand, lava, and a bird refuge. Mandy and I wanted a picture in front of the big crashing waves. We waited a long time and when it finally came we got drenched! Too funny!

Brooke was a member of our traveling group that we enjoyed getting to know starting on day one! More exciting adventures of the trip to come!

Josh's Baptism

Congrats to Josh who was baptized on November 2nd. What a great day and great choice!

It's official tomorrow, I am a home owner! This will be the 25th time I have moved in my life, so I guess I can call this a silver anniversary!

Family Halloween Party

 On Sunday Kerri hosted her family Halloween party!

 Prior to dinner the kids and I had a ball playing in the fall leaves.

 I remember doing this at my Grandpa Gillespie's house and it brought back a lot of memories to do this again with the nephews and nieces. Simple things can be so much fun!

 Kerri made amazing skull cakes and had lots of great food for the party.

 The kids and Kris had great costumes this year,

 the girls, and 

the boys!

Waugh the Wedding?

 Congratulations to Jared and Sarah Waugh who were married in the Timpanogos LDS Temple today. I feel so blessed to share this day with a friend of over thirty years who had waited a long time to find her Mr. Right!

 It was fun to see the whole Stewart clan...

 and to have all ten of Sarah's siblings there.

 Kelsey, Melanie, Sarah, and I had the chance to do a few friend pictures and then enjoy a luncheon in celebration of this day! I love you Sarah and I look forward to the continued adventures of the Waughs!

 Chinese New Year symbolizes each year with an animal, the year of the rabbit, the tiger, and so forth. 2013 for me has been the year of the weddings! The Waugh wedding is the fourth wedding of someone close to me in six months. What a blessing it has been to see so many wonderful women that have impacted my life in so many ways enjoy such wonderful blessings!
