Halloween Fun!

On Sunday Night Kerri and Matt hosted their annual family Halloween party. Everyone brings creative food dishes and it is so fun!

Spencer had a great Frankenstein costume. Kerri and Matt did an awesome Uncle Fester and Cousin It. I am not sure what Kris is but he claimed to be "Brave".

At work on Halloween day we had some great costumes. Camille and I dressed as our fellow employees Vard and Tim.
We also had three blind mice with fabulous shoes and a great pumpkin carving event.
Halloween is not my favorite, but this year was a lot of fun!

A Few Hours to Enjoy Nature

I had to go to Cedar City over night for work with Camille Curtis. We had a few hours so I took her on an extremely cold tour of the mountains.
We stopped first at the windy view of Zions National Park,
and then to snowy Cedar Breaks. It was beautiful but VERY cold up there!

I Swear...

On October 16, 2012 a seven year journey ended and a new journey began.
I passed the Utah State Bar in July 2012 and was sworn in on October 16th. Some of my family was able to come and we enjoyed a wonderful day together.
The support from family and friends has been amazing! I am so blessed!

Unconventional Trip to Las Vegas

Deah, Mandy, and I took a trip to Las Vegas last weekend. When we got there we were starving so we went to an Italian Restaurant owned by an Italian Family. The food was so good and authentic!

We stayed at the Tuscany, thanks to Mandy, and it was great!

On Friday we hiked in Red Rock Canyon. Calico Tanks was the first hike we did.

The view at the top of Calico Tanks of Las Vegas and the canyon was amazing!

 It was an amazing hike.

On the roads around the canyon they had signs for the tortoise crossing and signs warning against feeding the wild burros and horses. Funny what you see in other places.
After Calico Tanks we hiked up Pine Creek. It was very beautiful but we got lost multiple times. Luckily we got out before it got dark.

That night we ate at a Hispanic restaurant by chance. The guy working there was determined to have us try cow tongue which we did try and I actually really liked. I even ordered a taco with it.

As we left on Saturday we stopped at a Chinese bakery and got some unusually good pastries. We never really went down the strip, but this, by far, was one of my favorite trips to Vegas! Thanks for the great time Mandy and Deah!

The Moab Adventure

On October 11,2012, yes 10-11-12, Kris, Michelle, Matt, Kerri, and I went to Moab for a camping adventure with their kids. We had an amazing camp site with beautiful red rock as a backdrop.

The kids had a great time playing on the rocks and of course in the dirt. As we went to bed it rained a bit, but by morning the rain, lighting and thunder were extreme and the Larsen's tent had flooded.
On October 12th we were determined to continue our adventure. Kerri creatively lead breakfast with omelets in a bag. They were so good and a lot of fun. Matt and Kris kept the wood up and the fire burning.

We headed into Arches and the sky cleared up. We enjoyed the statues outside the visitor's center and took some fun pictures.

We went and hiked Balanced Rock. The clouds were moving so fast that the kids thought the rock was falling. It scared some of the younger ones and of course the older ones thought it was cool.

We went to hike Double Arch next and the rain, hail, lightning, and thunder was overwhelming. We sat in the car for a while and decided to take a break from hiking and head to town for lunch.

After lunch we decided to get a hotel because of the rain and cold. We packed up the campsite where we discovered more rain filling the Larsen's tent. Needless to say we knew the decision to spend the night in a hotel was the right one. It also opened the door to getting really dirty at the sand dune, which we did.

We played on the dune for over an hour and ultimately created our own red dirt shirts, pants, and bodies.
The kids had a ball, including Kris!

On October 13th after a good night sleep in the hotel Claire LOVED the cinnamon rolls and was so happy to not sleep out in the cold.
We returned to Double Arch and enjoyed a beautiful hike with a very sunny day.

Got some great pictures of the kids....

 ...and some funny pictures too.
We hiked to the view of Delicate Arch and enjoyed a great day. It was so funny when we got to the view. All the kids wanted to do was collect rocks. Here they are at the most famous arch and they are more interested in collecting. Kids are so easily amused.
It would not be a trip with Kris with out a few weird shots, so enjoy....

This picture of Claire says it all about the ride home. We had a lot of fun, unexpected adventures, and went home ready for a good sleep. That is what I call a great trip!
